Internet Marketing Is A Very Interesting Thing

Some beginners including myself do find it hard to get started on internet marketing which is to make your 1st dollar online because in general it is really difficult to focus on just 1 or 2 aspects of internet marketing like blogging or content marketing. According to most internet marketing experts, it is important to grasp the fundamentals of internet marketing before you actually decide to target a niche as the different concepts are actually inter-related which mean that doing blogging might include knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO). Hey wait! what are all the jargons you are using?

Talking about search engine optimisation (SEO), let me share my own experience with you. In a nutshell, SEO is about getting the best rankings in search engines, thus driving the maximum traffic to your own sites. Without traffic, even the best designed site will fall to pieces. To be frank, when I first started my personal blog http://leoncreations.wordpress.com, I did not know that one had to optimise your site for search engines. Today, if you search for 'leoncreations' on google search engine, my personal blog will come up top even though I am not on a top level .com domain (ya I am on Wordpress, recommended for people starting their 1st blog). So what actually happen? I believe that SEO has a big part to play and that there are a few important things to take note if you want your site to rank high and to drive traffic to your sites. I will reveal these points and more when I get going doing research on SEO, see you in my next post!

One of the most common way is to sell stuffs online, yes one can indeed sell anything online to make money. However, for those people who are serious and committed in doing it, there is actually 3 questions to ask yourself before you start.

  1. Ask yourself why? What is the motivation & drive behind? What are your desired goals?
  2. Now that you have your clear motivation & goal, how are you going to do it?
  3. With your plan & strategy, what are the actions you must take and how to deal with feedback?
Before I move on further, let me highlight the 3 most important reasons for making money online

  1. Low, minimal capital or starting cost (even students or people who don't earn much can start to make money)
  2. Automated ways or systems (you can make money anytime, anywhere with just a PC & internet connection)
  3. The world is your market (you can reach out to at least 1-2 billion internet users to maximise your profit)

Let me tell you the story of getting a free dessert...

Many of you might be wondering the lack of posting recently and I can rest assured you that my financial journey is proceeding, I am currently working on a major project where I will be turning an idea into an online business. Good news to my readers out there is that I will be posting updates on my blog so that you can follow me and also get to start your own online business as well, cheers!

To keep you engaged and enthusiastic on your journey to financial freedom in the meantime, I decide to tell you an interesting and informative story about getting a free dessert...Sounds interesting? Read on.

Before I start, i would like to give credits to Mr Roy Phay for his great article on his website 'Step by step to making money online' (Go check it out!) that motivated me to share it here.

Based on the article, I will be showing you the essence of what I gained and also would like you to try out the concepts & tactics mentioned after reading so as to share with other people and to provide valuable feedback.

Let's get started!

Suppose you are walking into a restaurant with a few of your friends to enjoy a good meal as well as hoping to get free desserts, so what is the most important perceptive you need to have? WIN-WIN situation where both parties will benefit and be happy. Ok with this mind, what are the 3 essential steps for you to get that free dessert?

1. Ask!!!!

You would say that that's easy but how many people actually ask for free dessert to come with a meal. When you ask, you not only ask in a friendly or pleasing manner but you need to state a strong purpose or why you would want that free dessert. People usually will help or accept request from someone who is friendly, kind & good-hearted.

2. Let the person in front of you approach first

This is to know the bottomline of the person serving you at what price or condition will he/she be willing to give you a free dessert. Your job of negotiation here will be easier with a scapegoat here and will have a higher chance of getting your request.

3. Know your objective

Knowing your objective here actually means what you want to achieve, which is getting a free dessert for this case and that if you cannot get a free dessert, you should try to at least get it @ discounted rate. Start at a rate lower than your expected price and then negotiate up to a reasonable price for you.

With the above 3 tactics in mind, I hope you can really put them to good use to see the positive results. Remember that your objective is to get a free dessert here. I wish you all the best and I hope to hear your success stories and feedback.

This should be the way to start things off

If a picture means a 1000 words, a video will mean a 1000 pictures. How about a video that one might possibly remember & be inspired for life? I have read motivational books, watch inspirational videos & went for great talk seminars and I realise the best way to motivate oneself is still to go for a motivational & inspirational seminar.

As I was thinking of how can I help to start off you people to embark on your financial freedom journey, I came across one of the most inspirational videos i have ever watched - 'Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams'.

His true, touching & inspiring story really touched & motivated people all there who have read his book, watch his videos and went for his lectures. I hope after watching this video you will be motivated to do something for yourself as well as your loved ones.

As the saying goes 'You only live once, so live it to the fullest'

P.S: His bestseller book 'The Last Lecture' is highlighted on my 'Must Read Now!' at the sidebar, go grab it!

Let's Get Started Now!

How am I going to increase my monthly income to 20K/mth?

Basically there are 4 main sources I am going to use here

  1. As a working professional, I can tap into my own field/expertise to provide service & consultancy to others
  2. As an internet entrepreneur, I will be looking at ways to make money online, be it setting up internet businesses or through internet marketing
  3. As a business founder, I will setting up my own business, be it selling items or providing services to others
  4. As a investor/trader, I will be dealing with investments and trading, in particular unit trusts & forex here. Real estate/property are also considered to be long term investment. Don't worry if you are not familiar as they will be covered later.
The aim here is to identify your own niche through exploring the various sources of income and eventually coming up with a few sources of income to work on. In this way, you can maximise income with minimum effort in the long run.

In my next post, I will going through the pre-journey mindset/training one is required & recommended to have before embarking on this wonderful journey to financial freedom. Do take note that constant training is still required throughout the whole journey so as to focus and reach your goals ultimately.

Thanks for your time and I hope to continue my journey with you soon.

How do I get started?!

That is a gd question. How I can earn $20K/mth from where I am now? I would assume that you are working now, regardless of profession as the important thing is that you are in the real working world. Nevertheless I have asked myself this question and the most important answer to me is that you MUST believe you can do it. The human mind is such a wonderful thing that believing in and visualising things you want actually win you half the battle. To achieve something, you must set clear & attainable goal like earning $20K/mth so that you can shift your mindset & work towards your goal.

For a start, I present my 4 steps to achieving anything you want

  1. Mindset & Training
  2. Planning & Strategising
  3. Action & Reaction
  4. Refine & Feedback

Each of the step will be touched on with reference resources & examples in my coming posts so that you can go through a informational experience while starting on your own financial freedom journey.

In my next post, I will be covering how I am going to proceed as well as the various sources of income one can expect to know and use to achieve your financial goals.

The Long Awaited 1st Post...

For those who found your way here, I must say that this is one of your best choices today and you have my heartfelt thanks. Some of you might be thinking why I am setting up this blogsite and declaring a bold statement here. The motivation behind actually comes from 2 people and of course myself. I have always wanted to start my journey to financial freedom but due to lack of right motivation and other factors, this important "mission" in my life has been delayed until now.

For Singaporeans who read the Sunday Times, the above news quote will be quite familiar and do you know that he is just 26?

The next inspirational person will be my good friend, his determination to retire @ the prime age of 26 has really spur me on for this "mission". Do you know Mr Adam Khoo, the famous Singaporean self-made millionaire made his 1st million @ the age of 26? 26 seems to be a auspicious age for doing big things.

My challenging journey to financial freedom starts here...
